Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. It wasn't possible for the group to be a major hit in America however, they enjoyed a great deal of acclaim in other nations and in particular Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo musician after the group broke up together in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she debuted her own solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for about 10 years. The smash hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. The song "Kiss My Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. However, her success was only not long-lasting and, for a few years after, she went under the radar. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
