Her childhood was a turbulent one. To get rid of an abusive partner, Pickler's mother left when she was barely 2 years older. Then, in 1995, she re-entered back to the world of Pickler, and took the custody rights. The situation did not work out the way she had hoped. Her grandparents took care of her from 12 until adulthood. In the absence of their parents Pickler was too busy as a mother to her children. She revealed that she didn't have time to study and started learning how to become a housekeeper in her early years. Pickler had been an athlete in the middle and high school.
